InGame draws upon a network of New Zealand’s leading game developers and artists along with experienced marketers, e-learning consultants and project managers. Our network includes:
- Stephen Knightly is a Director of InGame and a Director of Pursuit PR, a technology and innovation marketing and public relations agency. Stephen is also chairperson of the New Zealand Game Developers Association, runs the monthly Auckland Game Developers Meetup, and regularly speaks on gaming, education and new media topics. Stephen has a strong track record in using technology for successful marketing and training campaigns. His clients have included XBox, MTV Games, Microsoft Europe, HP, Unilever to corporate work for Fonterra, IBM and many high-growth technology exporters. Stephen is the former Director of Marketing for the University of Waikato.
- Maru Nihoniho is Managing Director of computer game and intellectual property development company Metia Interactive. Working with the University of Auckland Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Maru’s team developed an innovative ‘e-therapy game’ which is currently undergoing clinical trials. ‘SPARX’ uses an interactive 3D fantasy game to teach young people the skills to cope with depression and manage their mood. Metia Interactive were also nominated for a United Nations World Summit Awards for their PlayStation Portable game Cube.
- Shaun Lee is Creative Director of design agency Lee Ter Wal. He is one of New Zealand’s leading exponents of information graphics and strategic storytelling, particularly in the realm of new media. His games include one of the 10 most popular online Flash games of 2008, a series of training games and consultancy on a clinically-designed game for autistic children. As well as award winning websites and corporate collateral, his designs have been printed on mojizu.com and threadless.com.
- Tarique Naseem is CEO of Carbon Imagineering, an emerging technologies think-tank, and has a 20-year career in serious games and virtual reality. He headed the entertainment division of virtual reality pioneer Virtuality in the UK in the 90s. During his time there he developed virtual reality applications and games for clients such as Ford, GlaxoSmithKline, M&M Saatchi and Proctor & Gamble. He later founded Maelstrom Virtual Productions, a specialist serious games development house, with clients ranging from Sony Entertainment to the UK Ministry of Defence. He has developed a number of successful commercial titles on PC, Wii and iPhone.
- Kevin Toms is an internationally-renowned games designer and inventor of the sports management genre of computer games. As the Founder and CEO of UK-based Addictive Games, his original Football Manager game and its sequels sold in excess of two million copies worldwide. Kevin has particular expertise at strategy game design and is also an experienced corporate software architect.
- Damien Caine is a Director of Pixelati, a new media entertainment company working in video, music, web and games. Damien is also a board member of the NZ Game Developers Association. He has over 12 years experience in IT and software entrepreneurship. As well as developing games for XBox, Damien has strong music industry connections, as a manager and directing music videos for several leading New Zealand hip hop, rock and pop musicians.
